Two Dietitians. Two mums. Two friends. One goal.
A mutual desire to bring great quality evidence based nutrition to you. We are on a mission to provide you with the tools you need to make healthy, nutritious and delicious food choices everyday.
With so much nutrition information out there from varied sources it’s often hard to separate the credible facts from the nonsense. As registered Dietitians we are trained to understand and are passionate about translating complex nutritional science into information that everyone can understand and use as part of their everyday life. Nutrition is totally within your control. Only you can decide what, when and how you eat so why not get it right!
MEET THE TEAM
Food has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember… from cooking family meals as a small child to naming childhood pets after different foods.
After several years spent working in investment banks, travelling and living abroad as well a period of ill health and a discovery of long distance running in my 20s I knew it was a career in Nutrition & Dietetics that I really wanted to pursue. This would combine my love of science, achieving optimum health and all things food related! Six years ago, after 4 years studying at King’s College London I graduated and began a career as a dietitian within the NHS which to date has been an enormously rewarding and educational experience.
In 2014 I set up TeenyWeanies, helping mums to wade through the enormous amount of conflicting advice about introducing solids to their babies and more recently assisting families with decreasing fussy eating in their children.
Eat.Nourish. Restore. is the coming to life of a long term dream. There is so much nutrition nonsense available online so it is time for dietitians to start shouting louder, to get ourselves more visible and to show the world that science backed, easy to understand nutrition is accessible to everyone.
As well as my passion for my various nutrition roles I also have 3 small humans that I am responsible for keeping alive. They are my chief recipe tasters and sous chefs (well maybe not the baby but he’ll get there!).
I first became interested in Nutrition when I was about 15 years old. The role of nutrition and its effect on our body fascinated me and I knew I wanted to help people and make a difference. This combined with my love of nutrition led me to study Science A-Levels and subsequently gain a place at Kings College, London which is widely regarded as one of the leading Dietetic universities.
It was during my placement at Bart’s Hospital that I developed an interest in oncology; the role of nutrition in cancer- for prevention and treatment. Since then this motivated me to pursue a career in the NHS where I have spent the past 14 years working in the NHS mainly helping in the treatment of chronic and acute illnesses and health promotion.
Since having my three children – Dylan, Corin and Annabelle - I’ve experienced the importance of family nutrition. It is important to me that we have great exposure to a variety of lovely food whilst educating the children on what healthy eating is and involve them in the food preparation and cooking as much as possible. It has also highlighted the impact of food on our mood and mental health; something I am very keen to promote.
‘Eat. Nourish. Restore’ I can honestly say feels like it was meant to be. I have been lucky enough to team up with another amazing dietitian who is also my lovely friend and we hope to make waves in the nutrition world and reach out to as many people as we can to empower them to take control of their nutrition by teaching and preaching the scientific facts!
Together we have a wealth of experience in many nutritional areas so I am sure we can help, inspire and make a difference to most of you.
